L28      CORONATION CROWN 1952 + 2002     £0.99 / £1.99

First seen on Duchess Coronation class locos during 1953, the original crown headboard was made to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. It was used on such services as The Royal Scot.

The jewelled crown headboard was recreated in 2002 to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the Queen's accession in 1952. Carried on June 11 by "Duchess Of Sutherland", newly restored to mainline running, with the first steam hauled Royal Train for over thiry years. Since the Royal Train outing of 2002, Duchess of Sutherland has carried small crowns on the nameplates (see the L*F/L*G entry for our L28F metallic foil nameplates under the Various regions section).

The crown headboard is printed in O-gauge 7mm and 4mm OO-scale - two of each size in the pack.
