This section of the site covers my Skowhegan & Athens layout and rolling stock, however it also contains information about HOn30 in general and also the construction of freight cars.

Because it is describing a layout which is very much a work in progress these pages will frequently change to reflect changes I am making to the plans as construction progresses. Due to the large amount of information this section contains several pages, all of which can be accessed from the menu bar to the left.

The first page is a general introduction for anyone not familiar with the term 'HOn30', explaining what it is, and how it is used to model narrow gauge railways.

The SARR / WQRR page explains the historical significance of the Skowhegan & Athens and the Wiscasset & Quebec names, for which the rolling stock will be lettered.

The Planning page explains in more detail how the layout came about, how I found the track plan, why I decided to use HOn30 etc. It also explains why the name of the layout has changed.

The Layout page is an update on the current state of the layout and is the place where you can see the actual trackplan I am using. Note that currently there is little progress on the layout, to date I have been concentating more on building the rolling stock.

The Rolling Stock section is now split into three pages;
    The first page outlines the four possible methods for building HOn30 freight cars.
    The second page is a construction log of cars I am currently building, with photographs of most of the cars.
    The final page contains details instructions of the steps required to scratch build an HOn30 flat car.

Further pages on locomotives, structures etc will be added as construction progesses.
