Site resdesign: New page
This is a new page added as part of the 2010 site redesign, see homepage for details.
Whilst working on the redesign I will endeavour to avoid broken links and blank pages, however there will be a transition period during which the same information may be presented on more than one page.

All of the coaches which I am currently building, and shown below, are 4 wheeled stock and are being constructed to run on my Airedale layout along with my smaller goods stock and lighter locomotives.

I took some time to decide on the colour scheme to be used as I was not only try to choose the colour, but also to find a scheme which would work across a variety of kits so as to create a unified 'company image' in a train of different types of coach. I tried various combinations of green/cream and blue/cream before settling on the red/cream scheme. This taught me, if nothing else, that Modelstrip is excellent at removing enamel from plastic kit parts without damage!

Although I do plan to paint most of the coaches I will need for this layout in this same colour scheme I do also plan to finish some using Lancashire & Yorkshire colours as my fictional line history will include a connection to a former L&Y main line.

I do have another Parkside Dundas coach kit partly constructed, and 2 further Colin Ashby kits to start. If built as intended the Parkside Dundas kit would create a low riding coach body, but I intend to mount it on a stretched Peco N gauge chassis such that it rides similarly to my other coaches. Also I have have 2 Hornby OO 4 wheel coach bodies - these can be converted into very reasonable narrow gauge coaches, either 4 wheel or 8 wheel depending on the length of the body used.
