Site resdesign: New page
This is a new page added as part of the 2010 site redesign, see homepage for details.
Whilst working on the redesign I will endeavour to avoid broken links and blank pages, however there will be a transition period during which the same information may be presented on more than one page.

Currently I only have one item of motive power, and as can be seen this is very much still a work in progress but will represent a boxcab type locomotive.

The locomotive is based aroud a Bachmann HO Plymouth switcher. Most of the body, other than the cab, has been left intact to simplify contruction as this will not be visile on the completed locomotive.

To date I have completed the footplate and end plates for the new chassis. One 'cheat' designed into this loco is that the chassis is an 0-6-0 but the model I am building will represent an 0-4-0. Because the chassis side plates, which I have cut but not yet attached, are so low to the track I am hopefull that this discrepancy will not be apparent and that the fact that there will be two axleboxes showing each side will be sufficient to give the impression that the loco has one less axle than it actually does. By making this assumption I will not need to try and actually remove an axle from the chassis, and also I will continue to have the more reliable electrical pickup of having 3 wheels each side rather than 2.
